After a long summer break, Nagpur’s municipal schools came alive with joy, laughter, and celebration on Monday, June 23, as the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) welcomed 14,637 students back to class with a vibrant Praveshotsav (Welcome Festival).
All 114 NMC schools — including 86 primary and 28 secondary — were decorated to create a warm and festive atmosphere. From rose petals and chocolates to free textbooks and school kits, students were greeted with thoughtful surprises that brought wide smiles and excitement.
At the heart of the celebration was PM Shri Sanjaynagar Hindi High School, where NMC Commissioner Dr. Abhijeet Chaudhari and Additional Commissioner Vaishnavi B. personally welcomed students with roses and school supplies. Dignitaries and education officials joined in, adding to the festive spirit.
Selfie Points turned into star attractions, as students snapped cheerful photos with parents and teachers, capturing memories of this special day. “This welcome is just beautiful. My child felt so special,” said one happy parent.
Across the city, leaders like MLAs Krishna Khopde and Vikas Thakre visited schools, encouraging students to embrace learning with enthusiasm and aim high.
With digital boards, teacher training programs, and improved learning spaces, NMC is not just celebrating the start of school — it’s ushering in a new era of joyful, inclusive education.
The message was clear: school is not just back — it’s back with happiness, heart, and hope.
