A citywide cleanliness drive under the ‘Swacchata Apnao, Bimari Bhagao’ initiative was carried out across all ten zones of Nagpur on Saturday, resulting in the collection of 57 tons of garbage. The campaign was jointly undertaken by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and Smart City project authorities.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional Commissioner Vasumana Pant, who also personally inspected various zones to monitor the progress. The initiative included cleaning of public premises, grass cutting, and systematic garbage collection.
Prominent civic officials and community representatives participated in the drive, including Deputy Commissioner Ganesh Rathod, Chief Sanitation Officer Gajendra Mahalle, Assistant Commissioner Satish Chaudhari, Zonal Officer Hrishikesh Ingle, Kaustav Chatterjee from Green Vigil Foundation, Kiran Mundada from Tejaswini Mahila Manch, Umesh Chitriv, and Vinay Patwardhan.
Assistant Commissioners from all ten zones were actively involved, ensuring smooth execution of the cleanliness operations across the city.
