A tragic incident was reported in Pawan Nagar under the Kalamna Police Station limits, where a 12-year-old boy lost his life after falling from the sixth floor of a residential building while trying to escape a barking stray dog. The accident took place around 4:00 pm on July 6.
The deceased, Jayesh Ravindra Bokade, was returning home with a friend and had reached the fifth-floor landing when a stray dog started barking at him. In panic, Jayesh ran up the stairs, but lost balance and fell through the common window shaft on the sixth floor. He sustained severe injuries from the fall.
Family members immediately rushed him to Bhavani Hospital in Pardi, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Based on the medical report, Kalamna Police have registered a case of accidental death.
This tragic case highlights growing safety concerns around stray dog presence in residential areas, especially high-rise buildings where such panic situations can lead to fatal outcomes.
