The admission process for 350 different courses offered by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is currently underway. Interested students can apply online through the university’s official website until July 15, 2025.
IGNOU provides Open and Distance Learning opportunities especially suited for students who are unable to pursue regular education due to employment, business, household responsibilities, or other commitments. Based on their eligibility, students can enroll in certificate, diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs.
As per UGC guidelines, students are allowed to pursue two programs simultaneously (e.g., one diploma and one degree). IGNOU ensures a flexible learning environment through self-learning study material, modular learning systems, technological support, doorstep delivery of course materials by speed post, and student support services.
Study centres are available in Nagpur, Wardha, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Amravati, and Nanded, and students can select any center based on their convenience. Examinations can be taken at any IGNOU examination center across India.
There is a special fee concession for students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). Students from these categories whose parents’ annual income is less than ₹2.5 lakh are eligible for a 50% fee concession in BA, B.Com, and B.Sc. programs, informed Dr. Laxman Kumarwad, Regional Director of IGNOU Nagpur Center.
