Nagpur: To commemorate the death anniversary of its Founder President, the Radheshyam Vinakar Sarvajanik Mandal will organise a free multi-specialty health camp on July 19, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, at Radheshyam Sabhagruh, Balabhaupeth.
This year marks the 29th consecutive edition of the Mandal’s annual health initiative, which focuses primarily on providing free eye check-ups and cataract surgeries to the underprivileged. The camp will also offer free spectacles and conduct bone density screenings for individuals aged 40 and above.
A team of doctors from Indira Gandhi Government Medical College, led by Dr Ravi Chavan (Dean), will conduct the eye examinations, offer treatment, and prescribe spectacles where needed.
Addressing the rising prevalence of osteoporosis in India, which affects more than 60 lakh people, the organisers have introduced advanced bone density testing to help with early detection and awareness.
In a collaborative effort with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), the camp will also include a special awareness session on alcohol de-addiction. The organisers have urged individuals and families impacted by alcoholism to make the most of this opportunity.
