The second edition of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav (KKM) will start with grand inaugural function on January 12 at Yeshwant Stadium.
Addressing media persons chief convener of the event Sandeep Joshi said the second season of the event will be conducted over 15 days and will have 23 sports disciplines. Around 350 events both in the individual and team sports are scheduled to be organised.
The games that will be the part of second edition are football, kho-kho, tennisball cricket (men), box cricket (women), lawn tennis, basketball, carrom, skating, athletics, swimming, volleyball, badminton, hockey, chess, kabaddi, table tennis, cycling, wrestling, marathon, body building, state level softball and taekwon-do. The games for divyangs, fun games for women and senior citizens along with Samruddhi Run will be the added attraction this season.
A total of 640 teams, around 1700 officials referees and over 25,000 participants are expected to take part in the second edition of KKM, During the concluding function scheduled to be held on January 26 as many as 325 trophies, 2560 medals and Rs 72 lakh prize money distributed.
Former mayor Pravin Datke, NMC sports committee chairman Nagesh Sahare, Padmakar Charmode, Piyush Ambulkar, Ashpaq Sheikh and others were also present at the press conference.
