With just few weeks left for the SSC and HSC examinations, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has geared up and is leaving no stone unturned to curb the copying menace during the examinations.
The Nagpur division which comprises Bhandara, Gondia, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur and Wardha districts along with Nagpur has some highly sensitive examination centres in terms of copying. The board sources said possibility of mass copying is high at some of the centres. The board has taken a serious note and identified nine such centres and has issued list of the same.  These centres would be on board’s radar. Of the nine black listed centres, three are situated in Gondia, five in Bhandara and one in Wardha district. It is learnt that 12 more centres could be added to this list.
According to sources, last month Madhuri Sawarkar, assistant joint director, visited these centers and sought information regarding the examinations conducted at these places earlier besides, the previous record of these centres. Later, notices were issued to the tainted centres seeking reply from them in two weeks. According to sources, some of the school managements failed to give satisfactory reply to the board. The State board had warned the management of these schools to take corrective measures else board would not conduct exams at these centres.
