Vidarbha thrashed domestic cricket giant Mumbai by an innings and 145 runs in Ranji Trophy group A match at VCA Jamtha Stadium on Tuesday. With this win Vidarbha earned seven points including a bonus. Left arm spinner Aditya Sarwate claimed six wickets to propel defending champions into victory. Earlier, in response to Vidarbha’s first innings total of 511, Mumbai were all out for 252. Following on they lost their wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 113 on the third day of the match. Only Dharmail Matkar (35) and young Shreyas Iyer (22) showed some resistance. Sarwate was ably supported by Akshay Wakhare and Akshay Karnewar, who snared two wickets each. Now Vidarbha will play their last league match against Sourashtra at Rajkot.
