Union minister Nitin Gadkari paved the way for the demolition of fly-over and work for new road near railway station. The decision was taken at a high-level meeting held at Town Hall of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC).
The approval will now remove all the hurdles on the road ensuring smooth traffic movement on the road as well as Ram Jhula. It will also provide a hassle-free entry to the Nagpur railway station.
Gadkari also resolved the issue of the shop owners running their businesses beneath the fly-over. According to reports, these shop owners will be accommodated in two complexes coming up in the railway station premises. At the meeting, Gadkari reportedly asked the shop owners whether the proposal was acceptable to them to which they replied in affirmative. The issue of transfer of land is pending, which would be cleared soon, said officials attending the meeting.
Mayor Nanda Jichkar, MLAs Krishna Khopde, Vikas Kumbhare, Dr Milind Mane, Nagpur metro managing director Brijesh Dixit and other senior officials attended the meeting.
