Vidarbha clinched the Ranji Trophy title defeating visitors Sourashtra by 78 runs to clinch the title for second consecutive time on Thursday. The Vidarbha bowlers sent the entire Sourashtra team to the pavilion at 127 and finished the game in just first session of the fifth day to do the honours at the Vidarbha Cricket Association’s (VCA) Jamtha stadium.
For Vidarbha, left-arm spinner Aditya Sarwate was the star performer, who took total 11 wickets in the game, claiming six in the second innings taking Vidarbha once again to the victory.
Vidarbha had posed a target of 206 runs and in reply, the visitors were bundled out only for 127. Cheteshwar Pujara, who played outstanding innings in the recent international event, departed for a duck playing five balls. None other batsman of Sourashtra could spell magic leading Vidarbha to clinch the title for second consecutive time.
