Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will start the run of Samanta Express from Thursday. The train will head for 11-day journey from Nagpur Railway Station. Union Minister of State for Social Justice, Ramdas Athwale will flag off the train at the home platform i.e. on platform no.8.
According to Area Manager, IRCTC, Ahad Siddiqui, 85 % of the seats in Samanta Express have already been booked till date. Enquiries and booking for the train increased considerably during the past few days. Besides, several tourists are likely to to board the train with the current ticket. Samanta Express has been receiving an overwhelming response from the tourists, as the train covers all the important tourist destinations across the country and abroad.
Interacting with the media, Siddiqui said “We at IRCTC are hopefull that the maiden run of Samanta Express will receive full bookings. The train will travel to Bodhgaya, Chaityabhoomi, Deekshabhoomi, Kushinagar, Lumbini, Mhow and Sarnath. The train is planned in memory of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar to cover places associated with Lord Buddhaâ€.
