Central Provinces(CP) Club and World Trade Centre, Nagpur, are jointly conducting All-India Veterans Tennis Tournament for the first time at CP Club on February 23 and 24.
The total prize money for the tournament is Rs 1 lakh and it will be organised in four categories including 35+, 45+, 55+ and 65 +. So far 170 players from all over the India have confirmed their participation in the tournament.
As many as 80 players from Nagpur will vie for the top honours. Top ranking player in 45 + section Neekant Damre (Mumbai) along with Pal Manohar (Hyderabad) and JK Wislon (Bilaspur) will be the main attraction of the tournament. One woman player Rajashree Jaiswal will also participate in the tournament.
Commissioner of Police, Dr Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay will inaugurate the tournament on Saturday at 9 a.m. The prize distribution function will be held next day in the evening.
The tournament committee includes Alok Raina CA Vijay Kamath (coordinators), Rajesh Servaia (treasurer), Raj Shah (tournament secretary). Harish Kriplani, Sunil Mishra, Sangeet Chavan, CP Club secretary Girish Dewani and sports secretary Rahul Soni are also supporting the organisers.
