The NBA organized inter-school (U-14) basketball championship began at the Nagpur University courts on Wednesday. The two-day championship is part of the comprehensive youth basketball initiative of the organisers of Worlds Best Basketball League in America and is being conducted under the Reliance Foundation Jr. NBA program.
The event is being supported by Nagpur District Basketball Association (NDBA).The championship attracted a participation of 30 boys and 22 girls teams and all the matches are played in the knockout format.
The semifinal and final matches will be played on Thursday morning from 9.30 am onwards. From this tournament 12 players each in the boys and girls category will be selected to represent Nagpur city in the Inter-City West Zone Basketball Championship. From the zonal meet a team will be selected for the NBA National championship to be played among 12 teams.
