Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences (DMIMS) Deemed University (DU) has recently been granted a project named ENPRENDIA under the Erasmus + programme funded by the European Union to promote female entrepreneurship in the institution and its vicinity. There are a total of 13 institutions in the consortium out of which 8 are from India and 5 from Europe. The foreign partners include Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal; Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland; University College of Dublin, Ireland; Kinderburo University, Austria and University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. KIIT University is the coordinator of this project.
Under the project, the European partners will help in the capacity building of the faculty from the Indian Institutions and ‘Entrepreneurship Resource Centres’ will be set up in the institutions to help and promote the female entrepreneurs in the region by way of mentoring support and facilitation.
The kick-off meeting was held in KIIT, Bhubaneshwar where 24 representatives of the partner institutions participated and set a road map including the deliverables of the project. On behalf of DMIMS (DU), it was attended by Director (International Initiatives and Strategic Planning) Rajiv Yashroy, who is also the Project manager for this project. Such an interaction with people from all across the globe will give a great forum for understanding each other’s cultures and eco-systems and could facilitate more collaboration in the future.
