Mumbai halted Vidarbha’s winning streak defeating them easily by six wickets in the super league match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament at Holkar Stadium on Monday.
Mumbai chased the target of 137 in 15.4 overs losing just four wickets. Opening batsman Jay Bista slammed 73 in 51 balls hitting nine boundaries and two sixes. Captain Shreyas Iyer (28) and Suryakumay Yadav (25, 10b, 2×4, 2×6) were orher scorers.
For Vidarbha Ravi Jangid and Akahay Wakhare took two wickets each.
Earlier Umesh Yadav’s cameo (26, 12b, 3×4, 2×6) helped Vidarbha to put up a good total. Rishabh Rathod too contributed 26Â Captain, Ganesh Satish (24) and opener Jitesh Sharma (20) were other scorers.
For Mumbai pacer Tushar Deshpande got three wickets whereas Shardul Thakur got two.
With this defeat Vidarbha’s chances to qualify for final has suffered a setback.
