The Accountant General’s Office (AGRC) Nagpur has won the Guzder League T-20 (Institution) cricket tournament. In the final played on Dr. Ambedkar College ground on Wednesday, AGRC beat Central Railways by 39 runs in the 18-over match.
Central Railway won the toss and invited the opposition AGRC team to bat first. With the help of half-century from Dharmender Ahlawat, AGRC scored a strong score of 162 for 5 in 18 overs. Dharmender made 52 runs in 42 balls which included five fours and two sixes. He got good support from Samitinjoy Bhattacharya (35 runs off 21 balls, two fours, two sixes) and Lalit Yadav (20 runs off 10 balls, two sixes). Afsar Khan of Central Railway got two wickets and Amol Chinte got one wicket.
In reply, the Central Railway team managed to score 123 runs in losing 9 wickets. Sanjog Binkar (42 runs off 31 balls, two fours, two sixes) and Prabodhan Janbandhu (25 runs off 24 balls, three fours) tried hard but could avert defeat. AGRC’s R. Sanjay got three wickets giving away 20 runs, while Srikanth Wagh got two wickets.
