Amravati district recorded three-wicket win over Nagpur rural to win Vijay Telang Memorial Inter-District Cricket Tournament organised by Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) at Dr Ambedkar College ground , here on Sunday.
Batting first Nagpur rural were bundled out out for 110 in 37.4 overs. Manvindersingh Rawat top scored with 37. Faizan Ahmad and Ajay Pal contributed 16 each. For Amravati, Ankush Nawalkar (4 for 22) was the most successful bowler. He was well supported by Parag Gandhi (2 for 26) and Vedant Jaju (2 for 3).
In reply, Amravati achieved the target losing seven wickets in 39.2 overs. Thanks to Piyush Khopde who scored highest 27. Shivam Deshmukh remained not out on 22. Gagan Nanda (17) and Abhishek Thakre (15) also batted well. For Amravati, Manvindersingh Rawat (3 for 30) was the main wicket taker. Abhishek Gupta (2 for 22) also bowled well.
