A two day international conference on ‘Impact of Indian Philosophy in Current Scenario’ was organised by Post Graduate Teaching Department of Sanskrit, Rashtrasany Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, along with Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Ramtek and Indian Council of Philosophical Research, ICPR, New Delhi, at Department of Sanskrit, Gandhi Bhavan, Ambhajhari Road, on March 24.
Vice Chancellor of RTMNU, Dr Siddharthvinayak P Kane while addressing the students informed, Sanskrit scholars should conduct research on the philosophies behind Indian lifestyles, customs, traditions and values.
President of Ramkrishna Math, Swami Brahmasthananda was the chief guest at the event. He said that Sanskrit is the foundation of various languages, namely, English, German and Indian Languages. He also discussed the Indian Darshan Shashtra, in which he informed that the Indian Philosophy is based on four Pursharthas, which has enhanced Indian culture and civilization.
Head of Department of Sanskrit, Gujarat Vishwavidyalaya, Ahemdabad, Dr Kamlesh Choksi expressed his thoughts on the need of integrated values in a user friendly manner with an example of a mango fruit.
Dr Vijay Karan from Lucknow, Dr Dharmendra Kumar from Delhi and Dr Julie Walker from Chile also expressed their views and opinions on the occasion. A souvenir of the conference was also released on the occasion.
Head of PGTD Sanskrit, Dr Suchita Dalal made the introductory speech while, Dr Parag Joshi and Devenedra Band conducted the proceedings.
Dean of Faculty of Indian Religion, Philosophy and Culture, KKSU, Prof Madhusudan Penna proposed a vote of thanks.
