The city’s Punjabi Mahasangh will observe April 13 as Shaheed Diwas to commemorate the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
National Secretary of Mahasangh Narendra Satija said that the programme is organised to pay tribute to the martyrs of the massacre with programmes realated to the incident.
National President Suresh Mehra added that candles will also be offered to offer condolences to the brave martyrs.
The Jallianwala Bagh massacre, also known as the Amritsar massacre, took place on 13 April 1919 when troops of the British Indian Army under the command of Colonel Reginald Dyer fired rifles into a crowd of Indians, who had gathered in Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar, Punjab.
