The first phase of admissions under the Right To Education (RTE) Act has begun without much publicity. The applicants would have to complete all the formalities to secure admissions of their ward in the allotted schools before April 26. Interestingly, many applicants have not yet received any official information about the start of admission process and they are still waiting for the orders to complete the formalities
The education department, every year makes an official announcement about the allocation of seats and the admission procedure. This announcement also specifies about the initiation process of the first phase of admissions, along with the information about the second and third phase. But no such announcements have been made by the department this time.
As per sources, the department has only carried out the dates for the first phase of admissions but the detailed program about the entire process has not been issued yet. The applicants had no clue about the admission procedure till Friday. However, the department claims otherwise stating that the applicants have been informed via SMS. If the applicants are unable to get their children admitted in the first phase, the dates for them will be extended. Post this, the second phase of admissions will begin.
It should be noted that after the RTE draw was pulled, 5,699 children had been allotted seats. At that time, it was said that a detailed program about the admission procedure will be carried out and the applicants will be informed about this by the department.
