Due to poor rainfall, many area are facing shortage of drinking water. To overcome the drought situation, the district administration has implemented all the emergency measures. However, success of these measures depend a lot of public participation. Hence, people too should cooperate to face the drought situation, appealed the state’s energy minister and Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
He was addressing a huge gathering during the 59th Maharashtra Day celebration at the historic Kasturchand Park.
 Divisional Commissioner Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Commissioner of Police Dr. Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay, District Collector Ashwin Mudgal, Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar were present.
In order to overcome the drought situation various water conservation works are being carried out in large numbers. Work has started in the areas of Katol, Narkhed with the help of people, the Guardian Minister added. He assured that immediate measures are being implemented to solve drinking water issues.
He also extended his wishes to the working class on the occasion of Labour Day. “In the all-round progress of the state, labourers give  an important contribution,†he said.
 Mayor Nanda Jichkar, ZP Chairperson Nisha Savarkar, MP Dr. Vikas Mahatme, Assistant Commissioner Ravindra Kadam, freedom fighters and various officers and employees of the district and police administration were present.
