Rapid Response Team of Tadoba Andheri Tiger Reserve (TARTR) rescued a six month old female cub, in Brahmapuri Forest Division. The ailing cub was later on brought to Gorewada Zoo and Rescue Centre in Nagpur.
According to the sources, the cub was severely dehydrated and was suffering from a wound on his rear leg, due to which an immediate rescue operation was undertaken by the team of RRT.
During the patrolling of the forest one of the forest guards found the cub in a serious condition in Gosekhurd Canal in compartment No. 252 of Dongargaon Beat, Sindhewahi. The team of RRT was called for the rescue operation.
Later, the animal was treated by a team of doctors, including, Shirish Upadhyay, Vinod Dhoot, Bhagyashree Bhavane, Sujita Kolanmath and P M Sonkhusle.
The condition of the cub is said to be stable. The animal is under the observation of Divisional Manager, Gorewada, Project Officer, Nandkishore Kale, Range Forest Officer, R P Bhiwgade and other forest officials.
