Around 15 days have been passed since a young engineer lost his life in the swimming pool of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), and even now police is clueless about the cause behind it. Deceased Naveen Srirao (19) died after he drowned in the GMCH swimming pool on April 24.
Since then father Chaganrao Srirao has been running from pillar to post at every police station asking for justice to his late child. He alleged that there are no proper security measures for new untrained swimmers at the GMCH swimming pool, which resulted into his child’s death. He blamed the carelessness of manager, trainer and staff behind the death of his child. He questioned, what were the guards and the trainers doing when Naveen drowned in the swimming pool. Father alleged that there is not even a CCTV camera at the swimming pool premises.
Noted, that Naveen was in the batch with timing from 9 pm to 10 pm. It is a serious matter that even when Naveen was in the night batch, he was permitted for swimming during 6 pm-7 pm. This clearly shows the negligent attitude of authorities who followed no rules.
Coming to the police investigation, after 15 days of Naveen’s death, police is unable to reach to any conclusion. As per the information received, police have only registered the version of pool contractor, security guard and a few other people.
Whereas, nothing major came out in the investigation carried by the swimming pool authorities.
It may be noted that Naveen was a fourth year engineering student. He also got a job at a Hyderabad based company. After his degree completion, he was supposed to join it.
