The format of admission process in the academic session 2019-20 in degree colleges is yet to be clarified. There is also confusion among colleges over proposed centralised admission process as the Maharashtra government is yet to come out with its standard guidelines.
The results of class STD 12th of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) is likely to be announced in the next few days.
The State government has not issued any clear directives on new admission to colleges – whether admission process be like previous years or it would be centralised for more transparency.
In absence of clear instructions from the state government, there remains confusion among the colleges. The college management is unable to decide whether or not to give admission at the institute-level in the under-graduate courses.
Confusion is also prevailing in the concerned department of the RTMNU. However, varsity has started preparations at its own level for conducting centralised admission process (CAP).
Sources said, the university has reportedly started the process of setting up a committee to commence admission process. University officials were of the opinion that the committee should be constituted before commencing the admission process. At the same time, varsity officials are also waiting for instructions from the State government. If any instructions are received from the government, then the committee should be dissolved. In the event of not getting the instructions, the admission process should be started at varsity level.
The decision to centralise admission process was taken last year, but due to some reasons it could not be implemented. The new rule was expected to come into force from the new academic session, but State government has not issued any guidelines for centralized admission process (CAP).
