By the virtue of first innings lead Citi Gymkhana defeated Nagpur Cricket Academy (NCA) to win VCA Under-16 Inter-Club Cricket Tournament organised by Vidarbha Cricket Association at Civil Lines stadium on Monday.
In response to Citi Gymkhana’s first innings total of 300, NCA were bowled out for 62.
Thanks to left-arm spinner Shalom Telgote who claimed three wickets. Mayur Pimple and Sanskar got two two wickets each. Barring three NCA batsmen Ketan Hukare (15), Jatin Pimpalkar (14) and Aditya Kukde no other NCA batsmen could offer resistance to Citi Gymkhana bowlers.
In their second innings when umpires called the stumps Citi Gymkhana were at 93 for 9 in 30.4 overs. Sanskar Chavate was Citi Gymkhana’s topscorer with an innings of 32. Skipper Danish Malewar, who scored ton in the first innings, chipped in with 23 runs.
