Evonith Steel successfully conducted Kabaddi trials to identify budding talent for their Evonith Yodhas initiative in Wardha near Nagpur, Maharashtra. The trials were conducted at Vidarbha Kesari MP Ramdas Tadas Indoor Stadium in Deoli, Wardha with almost 300 athletes ranging from 12-year olds to 25-year olds participating in the trials.
This initiative is aimed at identifying, nurturing and promoting sporting talent from the heartlands of India. The trials were conducted in association with Sportz Village Foundation, a non-profit organisation based out of Bengaluru. Selected players will become a part of the Evonith Yodhas club and receive opportunities for structured training, mentorship and participation in competitive tournaments.
The trials were supported by Wardha District Amateur Kabaddi Association. The trials brought together promising players from Wardha and surrounding region, where they were evaluated by experienced coaches and selectors on fitness, agility, technique and match awareness.
Wardha is home to Evonith Steel’s iron-making and finished steel products manufacturing facility.
