The chairman of Coal India Ltd (CIL) Anil Kumar Jha has showered praise on the Western Coalfield Ltd (WCL) management for its commendable work and achievements. During his visit to WCL headquarters in Nagpur, Jha said, entire team of WCL is full of enthusiasm and this reflects in their work as well. This is one of the reasons that CIL has set high standards and expectations from WCL.
Jha also chaired a review meeting at WCL HQs, during which he spurred the WCL management to be ready to meet the requirements of power sector. Jha said, Coal India family should be ready to fulfill the need of power generation companies. CIL is the world’s biggest coal producing firm and supplies 84 per cent of the total coal required by the power plants.
In the last fiscal year, which concluded on March 31, 2019, Coal India Ltd’s total coal production was 607 MT. At the outset, WCL CMD Rajeev Ranjan Mishra gave details of WCL performance. He assured the CIL chairman nd WCL management would live up to the expectations of Coal India Ltd in future too.
He also highlighted the dedication and team work of WCL staff. Director (personnel) Dr Sanjay Kumar, director (finance) SM Chaudhary, director (technical) Manoj Kumar, director (planning and projects) Ajit Kumar Chaudhary, technical secretary to CMD MK Singh were present on the occasion.
The general managers of all the WCL zones and departmental heads at WCL headquarters Nagpur took part in the review meeting. Earlier, AK Jha was given guard of honour by the security personnels of WCL. He also took part in a sapling planting drive, which was organised to commemorate World Environment Day.
