Three booked for robbing, threatening woman in Nandanvan

Nandanvan police have booked three youth for allegedly barging inside a house of a 44-year-old woman in the wee hours of Wednesday and robbing her of gold chain and threatening to kill her son.

Cops have booked accused Vaibhav Tannewar, Nished and Guddu in this connection.

According to police sources, complainant Salma Khan Rauf Khan, a resident of Plot. No. 92, 93 Sadbhavna Nagar, Darshan Colony was alone at home on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday when accused trio with wooden sticks and sharp weapons approached her house asking for Arman and Bhola.

The accused trio reportedly hurled abuses at her before barging inside her house and breaking windows and cupboard. The accused also threatened Salma to kill her son before leaving.

 Jaripatka police raids two gambling dens

Jaripatka police raided two houses and caught eight bookies red-handed while accepting bets on World Cup Cricket matches on Monday night. During the raid cops seized two television sets, laptops, 16 mobile phones, cash and other material to the tune of Rs 1, 22,285.

Police arrested accused identified as Vijay Laxmandas Ruchwani (30), a resident of Sindhi Colony, Mecosabag, Prakash Dilipkumar Rochani (26), a resident of Plot No 811, Jaripatka, near Sai Mandir, Dipesh Preetam Vaswani (26), a resident of Plot No 177, near Jinger Mall, Raj Mohan Gehani (30), a resident of Hansapuri, Karan Jagdish Yadav (29), Pralhad Subran Yadav (35), Akash Jaisingh Thakur (24), and Deepak Ramlal Yadav (42), all residents of Kasturba Nagar in this connection.

Separate cases under Sections 4 and 5 of the Gambling Act have been registered against them.

Family robbed at knife point in new Kamptee

A family traveling to home was robbed of goods worth Rs 1.07 lakh by group of four armed miscreants at knifepoint on Tuesday afternoon. The incident reported under the jurisdiction of new Kamptee police station.

Cops have booked the undefined robbers under relevant sections of IPC in this connection.

According to police sources, accompanied by his wife Mangala, mother Sunandabai and daughter Manasvi  the complainant Chandrashekar Govind Wanjari (26), a resident of Neri village in Kamptee taluka was on his way to home with on a bike (MH/40/U/4008) on Tuesday when at around 12.30 pm, four miscreants on two bikes cornered them. The accused reportedly whisked out knifes from their pockets and asked the family to handover their gold ornaments and cash.

Sitabuldi police arrests two criminals, wanted for murder  

Sitabuldi police on Tuesday nabbed two hardcore criminals, who along with their accomplices had killed a cab driver at Talegaon, MIDC Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, and seized two firearms and 31 live cartridges from their possession.

Cops have arrested accused identified as Vaibhav alias Pintu Dhanraj Bijewar (33), a resident of Plot No 247, Ramdaspeth, near Lendra Park, and Digambar alias Akshay Madhukar Meshram (25), a resident of Morshi, district Amravati.

According to police sources, three days back, city police received information from their Pimpri Chinchwad counterparts that Bijewar, Meshram and their accomplices shot dead a driver of Ola cab. Bijewar and Meshram were hiding in the city. Acting swiftly, cops launched a search for them. Police got tip-off that they were putting up in a lodge in Sitabuldi area. A team of Sitabuldi Police laid a trap and caught Bijewar and Meshram.

Kalamna: Youth chops-off palm of man following old rivalry  

Kalamna police have booked a 21-year-old youth for lauching a murderous attach on a man following an old rivalry on Tuesday night.

Cops have booked accused Krishna Suresh Madankar of Ambe Nagar in this connection.

According to police sources, the victim, Ramesh alias Kalya Kamdeo Dangre, a resident of Mahajanpura, Pardi engaged with an argument with accused on Tuesday night. Following which accused brought sword and launched the murderous attack on complainant. Accused chopped off complainant’s left palm and fled the spot. Victim then rushed to Government Medical College (GMC).
