International swimmer of the city Himani Fadke bagged five medals in Junior and Sub-Junior State Swimming Championship organised by Swimming Association of Maharashtra at Shiv Chhatrapati Krida Sankul, Balewadi in Pune recently.
Himani won gold medal in 400 m freestyle by completing the distance in 5.1 minutes. In 200 m freestyle she walked away with silver with a timing 2.21.06.
On the second day of the event, Himani secured bronze medal in 800 m event clocking 10.40 seconds. In 400 m IM she won bronze with a timing 5.47 seconds. In 200 breast strokes, she participated in the State meet for the first time and won bronze.
She has been selected for the nationals to be held at Rajkot in Gujarat from June 24. Himani is the member of Shark Aquatic Club and has been trained under the guidance of Sanjay Batwe and Maharashtra Kamgar Kalyan Mandal swimming pool.
