India’s quota for Haj has been increased by the Kingdom Saudi Arabia following which 10000 more would go for Haj pilgrimage this year. Nagpur has got 250 additional seats. The first flight from Nagpur would go on July 18 instead of July 25. Boeing Dreamliner with a capacity of 250 passengers would be used to embark the Haj pilgrimage of Nagpurians.
Earlier, Haj pilgrimage was scheduled to start from July 25 and 13 flights have been booked for this. But with the addition of 250 more seats, the Haj pilgrimage will start from July 18 with 14 flights. Air India has announced the time table for the departure. Earlier, 2950 pilgrims were set to depart from Nagpur but now it has increased to 3200.
As per the schedule, the Haj flight was scheduled to depart at 1.40 am on July 18. Earlier it was scheduled to depart at 3.40 am. It’s timing was however clashing with that of Qatar Airways Nagpur-Doha flight QR 591. Now the Haj fight will depart at 1.40 am instead of 3.40 am. Volunteers training today the students related to aviation will get training at Air india office to extend help to Haj pilgrims. They will get information about the help given to international passengers and other related subjects.
