4 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze were clinched by Women Master Athletes of Nagpur District representing Maharashtra state in the 1st Women Nationals Athletics Championships-2019 held at Bambilon Stadium, Panji, Goa recently.
Neha Rebhe got gold in shot put and Silver medal in discus throw in 35-40 yrs age grp. Ms. Shardha Bhoyer bagged gold medal in 1500 mtrs, silver in 800 mtrs and bronze medal in 400 mtrs in 40 + age grp, Ms. Helen Joseph clinched gold medal in triple jump in 60 + age grp and Ms. Sashi Mane got in 200 mtrs and bronze medal in long jump in 60 + age grp. Many other athletes were able to secure in 4th and 5th place in track and field events in their respective age categories.
The Maharashtra state stood 6th among the 22 states participating in the meet.
The Nagpur District Masters Association (NDMAA) Vice President Dr. A Kapta, Secertary Mr. S. Patil and Mr. Ishwar Deshmukh congratulated the athletes for the outstanding performance.
