A leopard skin was recovered from a retired forest employees house at Jaam Village in Muhadi Tehsil of Bhandara district on Monday.
The incident came into light when, Devendra Chakole, a retired officer of forest department, was relocating to his house and was shifting his household items for the same when a leopard skin was found in his item.
According to the sources, Chief Conservative of forest, Nagpur, P. Kalyan Kumar, has instructed S K Tripathi, Divisional Forest Officer, Nagpur, to conduct detail enquire in the matter and to learn about if the tiger was killed by the poachers that are active in the district.
As soon as the incident came into light Tripathi along with his team members reached Jaam Village and took the animal skin in their possession. No record has been found regarding the death case of the leopard yet, officials said.
It must be mentioned here that a video went viral on social media, wherein the officials can be seen seizing the leopard skin from Chakole’s house.
Further investigation is being carried out in the case.
