-Mayor performed Bhoomi pujan
Nagpur is gearing up for its first electrical bus charging station, which is going to be the one of its kind in the entire Vidarbha. This step will add value to the Government’s objective of promoting eco-friendly public transportation. The information was shared by Mayor Nanda Jicjkar, at the ‘Bhoomi pujan’ ceremony of the charging station. She said that the electrical bus which is going to be run specifically for women will get a kick through this project. It may be noted that the station will be set up at Harihar temple.
Along with the mayor, others who were present at the programme were MLA Krushna Kopde, standing committee chairman Pradeep Pohane, opposition leader Tanaji Wanve, chairman of transport standing committee Jitendra Kukde, Samita Chakole, and others.
Mayor further said, “The public bus ‘Tejaswini’ will be on board soon. It will be the first bus of this kind in the entire Vidarbha. As per the vision of union minister Nitin Gadkari by 2010, there will be no vehicle running on petrol or diesel in the country.â€
Whereas Krushna Khobradage informed that by July 31, the construction of charging station will be done completely.
