The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has donated ambulance to Tirora government hospital under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity.
“At Airports Authority of India’s we always believe in performance with a purpose and aims to give back to the society, where we live and conduct our enterprise. We have always believed in Integrated Community development by engaging in the corporate social responsibility projects and about 2% of the profits after taxes has always been allocated for the CSR activities across India,†said General Manager (ATM) Airports Authority of India Yudhishthir Sahoo.
He was speaking at the ambulance donation function organised by the Airports Authority of India, Nagpur Airport under its CSR initiative.
Taking the social responsibility campaign of the Airports Authority of India ahead, Nagpur Airport has undertaken the CSR projects under the Guidance of Sahoo. In its first CSR initiative AAI Nagpur donated a basic life support ambulance to the Sub District Government Hospital, Tirora, which is located in the interiors of Gondia district and caters to the medical requirements of a large rural population. The much-needed ambulance will be a big help in providing the timely medical assistance to the rural population of Tirora.
The new ambulance was handed over by  Sahoo to the Hospital team led by Dr. Himmat Meshram, Medical Superintendent and acting civil surgeon Gondia district. The event was attended by Senior Airport Director  V.S. Mulekar, CISF Dy. Commandant Ravikumar, Deputy Director General  ML Sahu,  BS Patil, Nodal Officer, CSR and all the heads of the departments of Airports Authority, and Officers’ association and Union representatives.
The CSR Nodal officer in his report during the ceremony, informed that several other projects are under consideration and are likely to be executed in near future. With this initial project AAI, Nagpur has been planning extensive CSR drive in coordination with Corporate Headquarters in New Delhi.
