Yavatmal: A shocking incident came into light when the girls students of Mahagaon Government School of Karanjkhed village had to walk a stretch of 2 km after they were asked to de-board by Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus in Yavatmal district.
The students were returning from their school when the bus driver refused to take the vehicle further due to the bad condition of the road. After which the girls had to walk the stretch of 2 km long to reach their native village.
According to the sources, the roads between Mahagaon and Karanjkhed are in bad conditions and in monsoon the heavy rainfall have worsened the situation.
Sarpanch of Karanjkhed village Pravin Thackeray informed that the bus could not driver travel further because of the bad road conditions. However, the driver had contacted the Sarpanch and the decision regarding dropping the girls halfway was mutually taken.
