Teachers of non-aided junior colleges staged a demonstration outside the office of deputy director education demanding timely payment. They said teacher students at non-aided junior colleges are not getting salary on time. In the last 15 years, the education department has made several promises to resolve the issue but no concrete measures have been taken yet in this direction.
To express their anger and press for the demand for timely payment, the teaching staff of many non-aided junior colleges staged a demonstration.
President of Nagpur district Non-aided Higher Secondary Kruti Samiti Gajanan Dakhle said, Maharashtra education minister Ashish Shelar had assured to come out with a solution to our problem within 15 days during the monsoon session of the State Legislative Assembly. However, no decision was taken on it. What was more shocking to us that chief minister Devendra Fadnavis chaired two important Cabinet meetings after the monsoon session in which various important issues were discussed but our issue was left untouched.
“Anger is brewing among the teachers of non-aided junior colleges because of the apathy of the government towards our issue. We would intensify our protest if demand is not met,†he said.
He also urged the government to take the decision before the Model Code of Conduct comes to force. “We have decided to intensify our protest. If demands are not met, we would stop work from August 9,†he added.
Vice President Mangesh Chalkhor, Prof Borkar, Prof Randive, Prof Arjunkar, Prof Chaudhary, Prof Mamulkar, Prof Urkude, Tirche madam and others were present.
