On the National Tiger day which was celebrated on July 29, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the estimated list that had the number of tigers increased in it. According to the All India Tiger Estimation -2018 India has now a count of 2967 tigers, which earlier was 2226. The count has seen a leap of 33% in tiger population.
But during this period of time there has also been a rise in the killings of the humans. Saying this, it is not at all intended that the killings are done by a Tiger. The surroundings have other ferocious predators present as well, a leopard, bear, a wild boar maybe or the most alert of them all a Human himself.
In few of the recent kills it seen that the bodies that were later found were totally naked. Not even a single piece of cloth was found near the sight of the incident or on the corpse. It is seen that they were eaten, and eaten in such a way that it can be blamed on the Tiger, who is the first to come in mind, for no obvious reasons, while a dead human is seen inside the forest. But the big question is, how did the body reach the core or the buffer area of the jungle and even if it was taken by the tiger how were the clothes removed from the body.
The bodies were seen even without the undergarments on the spot of the incident. How intelligent a tiger can be, that he or she removes all the clothes along with undergarments and then eat its prey. Tiger is intelligent, no doubt in that, tigers are also territorial but are we humans a packaged food from a supermarket for these species?
The Maharashtra state government provides the highest compensation to the families of those who are affected by the tiger killings. And it is also seen that the few families in the state of Uttar Pradesh intentionally send their members, those who have become a burden on the family into the jungle to collect the compensation provided by the Government. As discussed earlier, the Maharashtra state has provided compensation of Rupees 15 Lakh to the families affected in Man-Animal conflict. This amount is the highest among all the other states that have been facing such issues.
During the recent incidents that have occurred, only one female body can be actually said that the attack was done by the tiger, as the woman was attacked directly on the neck and had punctured trachea. The other two bodies were either had a fully opened chest or stomach part.
Jerryl Banait a social worker said “just like the postmortem is done, the government should also check the background of the person who was killed. The person could be involved in some fraud cases, he or she may have made enemies in recent times and just before the killing is doneâ€
A few years back a youth who was not included as a partner in the property of the family by his parents, had attacked them with a poisonous snake, which was kept hidden in a car owned by the family.
The action of humans has always intervened in the rules of nature, now it can be seen that the humans have started hiding behind the silence of the mute. But the call always sparks attention and a growl can be heard for miles.
