After the tragic incident of Poonam Inox Mall that killed one, the enforcement team of Nagpur Municipal Corporation on Monday dismantled the cracked wall of the Mall with the help of Poclain machine.
According to Vijay Humne, Assistant Commissioner of Lakadganj Zone, the squad broke the dilapidated wall with proper precautions. The work was carried out from 11 am to 5.30 pm today and will continue on Tuesday as well. The Lakadganj police had blocked the route in front of Poonam Inox Mall for safety measures. After the incident, NMC had ordered to demolish the dangerous part of the building within 24 hours. Following the orders, the work was started on Sunday. Humane further informed that a structural audit of the destroyed building will be conducted soon.
Executive Engineer Chandrakant Gabneh, Assistant Commissioner Ashok Patil, Superintendent Sanjay Kamble, Zone Deputy Engineer Mangesh Gedam were also present. A team from the fire fighting department was also present at the spot.
