Mahavitaran has supplied electricity to 1 lakh 84 thousand 217 agricultural pumps in Vidarbha during the last five years, keeping in mind the ‘agriculture due to electricity and development due to agriculture’. It is about 28 percent of the total agricultural pumps energized after establishment. At the same time, the work of commissioning the pending agricultural pumps is still going on everywhere.
The total number of agricultural pumps in all the eleven districts of Vidarbha as on 31 March 2014 was 6 lakh 55 thousand 94. In the last five years, this number has increased to 8 lakh 39 thousand 311 i.e. about 28 percent by increasing the number of 1 lakh 84 thousand 217 agricultural pumps during the last five years. Apart from this, in the current financial year till June 30, 2019, 5 thousand 188 agricultural pumps have been activated and work is underway to provide power connections to the paid pending agricultural pumps everywhere.

Provided major funding through Special package, Backlog fund, Dinayal Upadhyay Gramjyoti Scheme, Employment Guarantee Scheme, High Voltage Distribution Scheme, East Vidarbha Scheme. In order to meet the demand of new power connections of Vidarbha farmers, Sanjeev Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of Mahavitaran, also gave a positive response to them and approved several schemes to energize agricultural pumps from the Central and State Governments.
In Vidarbha, electricity supply was made available to 1 lakh 84 thousand 217 agricultural pumps in the last five years, in which 14 thousand 756 in Akola district, 25 thousand 503 in Buldhana district, 12 thousand 572 in Washim district, 25 thousand 833 in Amravati district, There are 21 thousand 228 in Yavatmal district, 14 thousand 438 in Chandrapur. 13 thousand 923 connections in Gadchiroli district, 11 thousand 465 in Bhandara district, 13 thousand 573 in Gondia district, 14 thousand 896 in Nagpur district and 16 thousand 425 connections in Wardha district. Apart from this, 5 thousand 188 agricultural pumps have been activated in the current financial year, in which 375 in Akola district, 1 thousand 368 in Buldhana district, 342 in Washim district, 480 in Amravati district, 212 in Chandrapur district, 211 in Gadchiroli district, There are 203 agricultural pumps in Gondiya district, 519 in Nagpur district and 223 in Wardha district. In addition, 6044 agricultural pumps of Vidarbha have been electrified through High Voltage Distribution System and 626 agricultural pumps of Vidarbha have been electrified through the Chief Minister Solar Agriculture Pump Scheme through high pressure distribution system. Gondia district. This includes 203 agricultural pumps, 2019 in Nagpur district and 223 in Wardha district.
A large number of works are being done by the Mahavitaran to provide electricity connections to all the paid pending agriculture pumps till 31 March 2018 and all these power connections will be issued through High Voltage Distribution System by 31 March 2020, informed Regional Director in charge of Mahavitaran Nagpur Region, Dilip Ghugal.
