Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has decided to withdraw its role from the Maha Metro Mall Project. The reason for backing out at this moment is very clear and NMC has let the things between them and Maha Metro be transparent.
The delay in work and high cost in the procedure has left NMC with no option better than keeping the project aside from NMC’s reach. NMC has now left the phase I of the street project by Maha Metro on its own.
According to the NMC authorities, the civic body has already paid Maha Metro a fund of Rs. 11 crore in advance and still, till the date Maha Metro could not even complete the digging of lower basement parking.
According to the NMC commissioner Abhijit Bangar, the issue of delay is one of the reasons for withdrawing the support but it still is not a major issue. NMC has plans to help to sell the space in the mall at low cost, to the citizens.
