Gujarati Mahila Samaj recently organised a programme titled ‘Unity in Diversity’ highlighting various provinces, festivals, and patriots of India, at Gujarat Bhawan.
Dr Veena Talavia, President of Gujarati Mahila Samaj, played the role of ‘Bharat Mata’ in a group performance on a patriotic song. Jyotsna Joshi, Chairperson; Meena Thakkar, Secretary; Jigna Kotadia, Treasurer; Kavita Patel, Joint Secretary; Babita Parekh, Alpa Khara, Dipika Trivedi, and Indira Shah also played various roles in the performance.
Apart from this, Naina VyasJagruti Soni played the roles of Bharat Mata and Sushma Swaraj respectively in another performance. Megha Hirpara and Daya Thummar portrayed KrishnaDraupadi, Rupa and Chandrika Patel portrayed Punjabi Sherani Chennai Express, Uma Hargan, and Dipika Mehta delivered ‘Bemisal Friendship’ performance, Dimple and Geeta Patel (Bangla-Maharashtra), Nutan Jha-Nita Shukla (PadmavatiSushma Swaraj), Varsha Mehta-Smita Somani (NehruGujarati) presented acts on various burning issues as female foeticide, ritual of Johar, IndoPak relations, etc. Bharti Vani, Naina Parekh, and a large number of members attended the programme.
