In view of increasing pollution due to the use of fuel like petrol and diesel, it was decided to operate the CNG vehicles in the city. Under the central government’s JNURM scheme, an important decision was taken by CNN to convert 237 buses out of the 432 total buses in the Nagpur Municipal Transport service to CNG.
Raw Mat Agency has been appointed by tender for this purpose. The agency has started working on a conversion of diesel buses to CNG, and on Monday, Transport Committee Chairman Jitendra (Bunty) Kukde inspected the project. Mechanical Engineer Yogesh Lunge, Administrative Officer Ravindra Paige, Kaustubh Gupta, and others were present.
