Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will lead the BJP team of Nagpur city tomorrow in filing the nominations for the October 21 State Assembly elections. Fadnavis along with sitting (total five) MLAs Sudhakar Deshmukh (West-Nagpur), Dr Milind Mane (North-Nagpur), Vikas Kumbhare (Central-Nagpur), Krishna Khopde (East-Nagpur), and former MLA Mohan Mate who re-enters electoral field (South-Nagpur) after a span of ten years will file the papers tomorrow on the last day of filing nominations.
The suspense over the nomination of Nagpur District Guardian Minister, State Energy Minister, Chandrashekhar Bawankule continues here in the political circles. The final list may include his name which was likely to be finalized late tonight since there is no time left till tomorrow afternoon.
Meanwhile, Congress candidates former Mayor Vikas Thakre (West-Nagpur), Girish Pandav (South-Nagpur) along with former Minister Anil Deshmukh of NCP (Katol) also filed their papers today.
Four party rebels, Pramod Manmode of Congress (South-Nagpur), Satish Hole of BJP (South-Nagpur), Ramesh Punekar of Congress (Central) and Manoj Sangole of Congress (North) also filed the nomination papers today on the enultimate day.
Thakre was accompanied by his mentor former Minister Vilas Muttemwar. Fadanvis and others will start their procession from RBI square and reach Collectorate by noon, party sources said.
