Recently the Nuisance Detection Squad(NDS) of civic body has taken stern action against the people who have violated the cleanliness norms of the city, and fined 2,384 people for spitting and urinating in public places. The NDS has taken the initiative under the guidance of civic chief Abhijeet Bangar and additional commissioner Ram Joshi.
Under the leadership of NDS chief Veersen Tambe,87 swachh doot have been working in the city. The NMC headquarters situated in Civil Lines has taken action against 110 people and recovered fine.
The NMC chief Abhijeet Bangar has asked the people to support the move and help to maintain the cleanliness in the city. He also urged the citizens to contribute their share in this drive,he further said that people can complaint to NMC if they found anyone urinating or spitting on the road.
About 289 people were booked in Hanuman Nagarzone for spitting in public places. Similarly, 159 were booked in Laxmi Nagarzone; 117 in Gandhibaghzone; 95 in Asi Nagar zone;91 in Lakadganj zone; 87 inDhantoli zone; 62 inMangalwari zone; 27 in Nehru Nagar zone and 10in Satranjipura zone. For urinating, LaxmiNagpur and Gandhibagh zone topped the table. Action was taken against 255 people each in the two zones.210 people were booked in Dhantoli zone.
The drive was carried out in 10 zones from December 11, 2017 to October 10, 2019. And NDS has recovered 2958000 a fine from 1952 people for spitting in public places. And urinating in public places it had recovered 2,09,700 lakh from 1332 persons. And in total, the NDS had collected 3,05,500 lakh.
