Ritika Thaker of Nagpur and her Mumbai partner Simran Singhi cruised in the semi finals at the Egypt International being held at the Cairo Stadium, Cairo. Seeded third in the women’s doubles the Indian pair made light work of Rana Abu Harbesh and Shahad Almuhayshir of Kazakistan by beating them 21/7 and 21/8 . In the second round they beat Domou Amro and Yasmeen Hammoudeh of Jordan, the score reading 21/8 and 21/10.
They now face top seeds and local favorites Doha Hany and Hadia Hosny to get a place in the summit clash.  Ritika is a student of Hislop college and trains under Robin Simon and Ajay Dayal, and Simran trains at Thane Academy under Srikant Vad.
