The healthcare sector in the city is under crisis after many doctors are discontinued their services after not getting their remuneration on time. As per information, the directorate of health services recruits the medical officers directly in contract basis especially whenever there is emergency in rural areas.
However, the matter of remuneration has not given the due importance and it was in the complete sense resulted in the resigning of more than 50 % of such doctors from the service within three to four months. As per source, the doctors were not paid remunerations for last 6 to 7 months.
And most cases in this case are from MBBS doctors. And it has reported that the most of the BAMS doctors have not left their service yet and are waiting for the remunerations for the last six to seven months. As a result the most affected people are those who reside in rural areas. And they are suffering due to the lack of proper healthcare services.
To face this problem, the directorate of health services has issued directives to appoint medical officers on contract basis to tackle the problem especially in primary health centres and as per information, around 1500 health officials were appointed in all parts of the state.
