A blanket of anxiety fell in the vicinity of Empress Mall when a 19-year-old girl was seriously injured after she fell from the third floor of Empress Mall which falls under the jurisdiction of Ganeshpeth Police Station area on Sunday afternoon.
The girl, identified as Shubhangi Shatrughna Swami (19), a resident of Nandanvan slums, was working as instructor at game zone of mall at third floor. She was standing near the railing when the incident happened at around 2.15 pm. She suddenly slipped on the floor near the railing and fell on the first floor. A large number of onlookers gathered at the spot after hearing a loud sound. Blood was oozing from her mouth.
She was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital where doctors told the police that the face and left leg of the girl were badly fractured. Her condition is reportedly critical, said Police Inspector Shvram Kumbhre of Ganeshpeth Police Station. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
