National Council of Science Museums has organized a Science Film Festival in collaboration with Goethe Institute & Max Mueller Bhavan in all the NCSM units. Raman Science Centre is one of its unit in the central part of India. The Science Film Festival is a celebration of science communication in Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and now South American countries as well.
In cooperation with local partners, it promotes science literacy and facilitates awareness of contemporary scientific, technological and environmental issues through international films with accompanying educational activities.
With a different scientific theme every year, the festival presents scientific issues accessibly and entertainingly to a broad audience and demonstrates that science can be fun. Science Film Festival 2019 aims to illustrate the relevance of this complex approach in the 21st century, in particular for students and young people, and raise awareness of environmental issues, climate change, and sustainability.
The Film Titles as official entries for the International Science Festival are available at Raman Science Centre, Nagpur. This festival was inaugurated on November 18 at the hands of Ravindra Ramatkar, Director, SISE, Nagpur in presence of Vijay Shanker Sharma, project Co-ordinator and Shanoor Mirzam principal Tata Parsi Girls High School. Till November 23 nearly 25 schools are expected to participate in the festival in which most of the films are narrated in English.
