A joint press conference was called by Shiv Sena and NCP President Sharad Pawar at YB Chavan Centre Mumbai on today, after getting a big surprise by Ajit Pawar and BJP alliance forming a government in Maharashtra.
In this press conference Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray along with Aaditya Thackeray and National Congress Party President Sharad Pawar were present .However, the Congress leaders were absent.
Sharad Pawar while addressing the press said that the alliance which was formed earlier today is not acceptable by us as they lack the majority, all the leaders from our party has shown consensus on the formation of the government.
We got a call about the meeting held at Raj Bhavan and about the oath ceremony and no NCP leader were present in the ceremony except Ajit Pawar, as we condemn this act.
The leaders who have joined hands with BJP are not true NCP leaders. NCP will never support such government in centre or state.
Clearing the confusion Pawar said that only “10-11 MLA from NCP have joined hands with Ajit pawar in forming a government with BJP and we know that BJP does not hold a strong position as the required seats are lessâ€.
Pawar also showed their support with Shiv Sena and said that “We want a government under the leadership of Shiv Sena and will be under their leadership only and will make government as we have the required numbers”.
Pawar also asserted that “Our committee will take action against MLAs who joined hands with BJP today and if need arises we will do whatever to keep the flocks togetherâ€.
Uddhav Thackrey said that “this is a clear disrespect to the constitution and to the people of Maharashtra. It is a repeated game played by BJP. This is a surgical strike on state of Maharashtra done by BJP. We will stand together with NCP and form a government in the stateâ€.
“We have joined hands with NCP and will stay with them till the end†Shiv Sena chief added.
