We cannot hold mortality’s strong hand, Mayo employee’s wait for pension continues

As Shakespeare stated in King John, We cannot hold mortality’s strong hand. Exactly the same happened with a retirement employee of Mayo hospital identified as Krishna Dharmik.Five months after his retirement, it was a difficult task for him to get his retirement benefits. He knocked the doors of authorities several times but in vain. And two days back he had asked the officials whether they would give his benefits after his death. And exactly the same happened and he lost his life.

As per information, he retired in July 2019 and expected to get all retirement benefits on the day of retirement. However he did not receive the benefits and had to meet officials from administrative officer to dean. As per the rule, the service book should be sent to the verification committee about six to seven months before retirement.

However; over 15 retired employees from Mayo have still not received their retirement benefits. Even after his death the issue of pensions of employees is still pending. This should be resolved immediately; demanded Vidarbha Medical College and Arogya Karmachari Sanghatna (INTUC) through a memorandum to Dean Dr Ajay Kewaliya. They have urged that the Secretary of Medical education and director should take serious action towards this and provide justice to the deceased Krishna Dharmik.
